Job Summary
The main goal of the Food Safety Regional Specialist is to oversee food safety programs and pest control in specific regions.
You’ll make sure all operations meet company standards and government regulations (DOH compliance). The role is eligible for remote work, but if you’re close to a Shake Shack Support Center, you’ll work in the office three days a week on a hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Audits: Assess and audit food safety at all restaurants and facilities.
Training & Guidance: Provide teams with complete training on food safety policies and procedures.
Incident Investigation: Investigate any food safety incidents and take immediate action.
Performance Monitoring: Keep an eye on Shake Shack’s food safety performance and monitor corrective actions.
Regulatory Liaison: Communicate with Departments of Health (DOH) and resolve health inspection violations.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Work with QA, Operations, and Legal teams on compliance initiatives.
Experience & Qualifications
Education: Preference given to candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related fields.
Work Experience: You need at least 2 to 4 years of professional experience.
Related Experience: Having 1 to 2 years of food safety experience in chain restaurants or a manufacturing setting is a big plus.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform repetitive motions and lift up to 40 lbs.

Strong ability to follow structured procedures and pay close attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to connect easily with global teams.
Ability to multitask and manage workload according to priorities.
Willingness to learn quickly and adapt in a dynamic environment.
Salary & Location
This position is hybrid for Atlanta, GA (Support Center) and New York (Support Center), with remote options available for other eligible locations. The salary package is extremely competitive in the market and includes weekly pay plus performance bonuses.
