Job Summary

The main job of the Policy Coordinator is to provide research and administrative support to various policy teams at the NGA Center for Best Practices. 


This is an entry-level position, where you will report directly to the Deputy Director. You will be responsible for preparing and scheduling meetings, but that's not all — you will also handle all logistics for events and projects, so that the organization can achieve its goals more easily.


Key Responsibilities


Administrative Support: Center leadership and policy teams depend on you to schedule meetings, create agendas, and manage all ongoing communications.

Event Coordination: You handle every aspect of both onsite and virtual events—from registration and travel arrangements to ensuring participants receive their expense reimbursements.

Project Tracking: You monitor various projects and consistently update management on their progress.

Document Preparation: You produce materials for reports, newsletters, and site visits, and proofread them to ensure accuracy.

Database Management: You maintain and organize the organization’s database and SharePoint systems, keeping them current.

Requirements: Qualifications & Experience

Education: High school diploma is required. Bachelor's degree is even better.

Experience: At least 2 years of practical experience in the relevant field is needed. Having worked with non-profit or government agencies is a plus.

Technical Skills: Must know how to use Microsoft Office suite and web tools.

Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Organizational Skills: Should be able to handle multiple projects at the same time and meet deadlines.
