Job Summary


The main goal of this position is to support the administrative and operational side of utilization management (UM). 


You’ll provide non-clinical support so members get the right treatment and services under their policy. You’ll work on semi-routine assignments that require you to interpret departmental policies and methods. 


You’ll get some freedom to prioritize your work but need to stick to standard policies and quality standards at all times.


Key Responsibilities


Handle administrative and operational tasks related to utilization management.


Do computations and process data tied to claims, Utilization Review (UR), and Prior Authorization (PA).


Arrange appropriate services for members based on non-clinical policies.


Finish assignments on time following department guidelines and methods.


Prioritize work to maintain expectations and quality standards.


Use MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) to manage daily reporting and documentation.


Quickly learn and work with new software and systems when needed.


Experience & Qualifications


Experience: Minimum 2 years in administrative or related roles.


Claims Knowledge: 2 years processing claims is required.


Managed Care: 2 years in Utilization Review (UR) or Prior Authorization (PA) with a managed care organization.


Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).


Communication: Proficiency in speaking and writing English to ensure proper communication in a professional environment.


Skills


  • Skillful with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable in a Windows-based setting.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10 codes (preferred).
  • Ability to use electronic medical record (EMR) and documentation programs.
  • Experience handling phone calls in customer or member service.
  • Attention to detail and skilled at doing computations accurately.


Salary & Location


Location: Remote (anywhere in the US).


Salary: $40,000 to $52,300 per year, depending on your skills and location.


Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (ET or CT zone), with possible overtime.
