Job Summary  

As Head of Product, you'll be responsible for building and scaling solutions for health and human services programs like Medicaid, SNAP, and TANF


Your main job is to create effective digital systems for both government employees and everyday citizens. This role is ideal for people passionate about social impact and who have experience designing products for millions of users. 


You’ll work on AI/ML models and data-driven strategies, all while keeping federal and state regulations in mind.


Key Responsibilities  

Product Vision & Strategy: Develop long-term product roadmaps for programs like Medicaid and SNAP. Lead discovery sessions with government agencies.


User Research: Collaborate with consumers, caseworkers, and agency administrators to conduct both qualitative and quantitative research for better journey mapping.


Regulatory Alignment: Understand federal and state regulations (CMS guidance, eligibility rules) and translate them into clear technical requirements.


AI/ML Development: Oversee the training and deployment of ethical, compliant AI systems for chatbots, outreach automation, and eligibility analytics.


Social Impact: Set metrics that track real-world changes in service access and user engagement.


Team Leadership: Mentor cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, and researchers. Foster a culture of ownership.


Experience & Qualifications  

Product Management: At least 5 years of product management and 5 years of user research/design experience.


Safety Net Programs: 3 or more years working with public-benefit systems like SNAP, Medicaid, or TANF.


Government Experience: 2 years working with government, plus a track record of launching products for over 1 million users.


AI Products: Direct experience designing and launching AI-based products is required.


Academic Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.


Skills  

Prototyping: Ability to create prototypes and work hands-on with data analytics.


Communication: Strong executive presentation skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.


Systems Thinking: Skill in balancing policy, operations, and technology.


Adaptability: Ability to excel in fast-changing, ambiguous environments.
