Job Summary
As a Senior Data Scientist, you’ll be taking on advanced analytics problems for both Outdoorsy and Roamly. You’ll report to the Senior Director of Analytics, build dynamic pricing engines, recommendation systems, and predictive models.
Coding is just the start , you’ll need to understand business goals and create strategies that boost revenue and reduce risk. This position gives you experience in both the travel marketplace and fintech insurance worlds.
Key Responsibilities
Build Lead Scoring algorithms to help prioritize the best insurance leads.
Create models to predict churn and claims losses, working with the Underwriting team.
Develop dynamic pricing models for marketplace hosts to help them adjust prices by season.
Design upsell recommendation models to suggest products tailored to customers’ needs.
Use statistical methods to cluster and segment audiences for sharper marketing.
Work with Data Analysts and Engineers to optimize and ensure accurate pipelines.
Experience & Qualifications
Experience: At least 3 years of professional experience in Data Science, especially with consumer-facing products (Travel or Insurance).
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in SQL, Python/R, and machine learning libraries.
Education: Degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Mathematics, Economics), with preference for a Master’s.
Statistical Skills: Deep understanding of regression, clustering, classification, neural networks, and anomaly detection.
Tools: Experience with ELT tools (FiveTran, DBT) and Business Intelligence tools (Tableau).

Salary & Location
Salary: $140,000 to $200,000 annually (based on experience and skill).
Location: Austin, TX (priority for Austin candidates).
